The only mega sports events on Conservation in Africa

African Green Cup of Climate Change ( AFGCCC) is a green event under the Sustainable Environmental Conservation Tournament-SECOTO as the first and only mega sports event on Conservation in Africa.

With a series of football competitions, workshops, panel discussions, opportunities to showcase innovative solutions and best practices for addressing climate change, while fostering collaboration and solidarity among African countries through sports for climate.

Context

African Green Cup of Climate Change is a tournament under SECOTO, to contribute to sports for Conservation and the execution of the Paris Agreement for Climate Change of UNFCCC via the framework of Sports for Nature, a joint initiative of International union conservation for nature (IUCN), the United Nation Environment Programme (UNEP), and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Dona Bertarelli and Convention on Biological Diversity.

This African Eco Football competition 2026 is structured according to CAF regulations and the rules of international tournaments, featuring a series of matches between participating Eco teams from the group stages to the final, including the knockout and semifinal rounds. Each game highlights a specific aspect of climate change and its own way of sustainability.

Iconic and remarkable trophy of conservation and Sustainability in the history of football and Environmental protection 

Monetary prizes ( 7,000,000 USD, 5,000,000 USD, and 3,000,000 USD) for sports on conservation. All Eco sports Clubs will receive 100,000 USD as a seeding grant for their climate innovations that will be implemented in the community of their countries through sports for conservation
